The Kansas Academy of Science (KAS) will hold its 136th annual meeting
April 16-17, in Kansas City, Missouri, in conjunction with the annual
meeting of the Missouri Academy of Sciences.

... which leads me to announcing that the joint meeting will also host
the 5th Annual KAS Paleontology Symposium.

Kansas Academy of Science information:

The KAS is the second oldest state academy of science west of the
Mississippi (California is the oldest). A brief history of the Kansas

The KAS has published a scientific journal (Transactions) for more than
a hundred years. The Transactions has recently undergone a facelift and
is now published in a larger format twice a year. Articles published in
the Transactions are also available online through such services as
BioOne. Although it is open to all disciplines, over the years the
Transactions has published the work of a number of well-known
paleontologists, including Charles H. and George F. Sternberg, and
Samuel W. Williston:
